Product Change Notice:  CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) regulatory standard update for power cords

By GlobTek, Inc. Engineering     Original: 6/01/2025

Change: Update 2-blade and 3-blade China cordsets based the latest safety standard requirements: GB 1002-2024 "Household and similar use single-phase plugs and socket-outlets - Types, basic parameters and dimensions" and GB 2099.7-2024 "Household and similar use extension socket-outlets. The updated CCC standard introduces stricter requirements for AC power plugs to address emerging safety concerns in electrical applications. These changes align with the global trend toward improved electrical safety and durability.

Part numbers: All CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) approved power cords.

Reason for Change:

The revised AC plug design improves safety and reduces the risk for electrical shock by adding insulation sleeves to the L and N plug blades as shown in the illustrations below.  In addition, the blade thickness has been increased to 1.55mm minimum and a critical dimension on the plug face has been increased to a minimum of 6.5mm.

Impact & Risk Assessment:

The new design has been tested and evaluated to the latest CCC standard and revised CCC certificates have been issued.

Schedule for Implementation:

All new GlobTek power cords for China produced on or after June 1, 2025 are manufactured to the new standard.
